The electrical application is one of the hardest in Florida contracting. The state accepts several experience paths, from three years of management experience to six years of technical training or supervisory experience, and each one has to fall inside a set lookback window. For the unlimited electrical license, at least 40% of that experience has to be in three-phase work.

Proving it takes real paperwork: W-2s for every year you claim, employer verification, and a list of projects for each year. Applications that come in light on proof get kicked back, and every deficiency letter costs you 30 to 60 days.
